The Mount Protector is a professional grade premium product specifically formulated to protect, clean, condition and prevent infestation in taxidermy mounts. The product has a pleasant scent and can be applied without moving the mounts. Basically just dust or vacuum the mounts, if there is a heavy dust layer, mist on the product and let it soak in. Applications:
Professional Use – Applying a light coat or two of Mount Protector to the mounts prior to delivery, to make them really look good, plus will help keep your work looking good while in your client’s care. This is accomplished by misting on a light coat, allow it to soak in for ten minutes and wipe with a soft cloth. Professional Taxidermists can also purchase the product wholesale, so they have it as a service to their clients. Specially labeled four ounce bottles are available by the dozen to taxidermy professionals as promotional items.
Client Use – After semi-annual or annual dusting as necessary, simply mist on a light coat of Mount Protector, allow it to soak in for ten minutes and wipe with a soft cloth if there is any excess. If your taxidermist hasn’t already made an initial application, let the Mount Protector thoroughly dry and apply a second light mist coat. Older mounts that may be a bit dried out, may require an initial two or three light coats with a 20 minute dry time in between applications. It is best to apply multiple light coats than one heavy coat.
Special Use on Birds – Mount Protector really bring out the colors in feathers. Its especially good at make the irridecent feather really shine. To apply the product to birds either hold the bottle at least two feet away from the bird or soak a dust or soft cloth and whipe the feather with the wetted dusted or cloth. This is done to prevent over wetting the feathers and matting them down.

The Mount Medix Mount Protector is available in 16 fl. ounce, 32 fl. ounce bottles and 128 fl. ounce ready to use sizes with accompanying sprayer, in some areas Mount Protector is also available in a 16 fl. ounce making one gallons, 32 fl. ounce concentrate that makes 2 gallons and 128 fl. ounce that makes 8 gallons of Ready-to-Use product. Typically it takes 2-3 ounces of Ready-to-Use product to treat a whitetail shoulder mount. How many mounts it treats is heavily dependent on the size and product absorption.
